A hacienda-style home, QuerenciaTaos is composed of 4 free-standing buildings: Owner’s area, Guest’s area, Property Manager’s area, and communal garage, connected by covered breezeways, each with separate access and private gardens. It is a non-smoking facility, but there are ashtrays on the breezeway and in the patios.
At QuerenciaTaos, you let us know if you want visitors or not
by simply opening or closing your patio curtains.
If our
curtains are open, so is our door!
The kitchen has everything you'll need for family meals: dishes and utensils, stove, oven, toaster, mixer, microwave, ice maker, blender, large crock pot, coffee grinder and coffee maker. We provide seasonings, spices and condiments.
Feel free to use the washer/dryer
in the hallway to the left of your door. Detergent and dryer sheets provided.
The hot tub just outside your sliding glass door is
ozonated and has very little chemicals in it .
We provide robes and slippers for your comfort and convenience.
To make yourself comfortable in the high desert: simply light the
convenient gas-log fire or open the windows. The house is heated
by water flowing
through the floor, so please
do not adjust the climate control- it will not affect the
temperature for at least 6 hours!
The living room and dining room have wonderful views of the mountain and open to the patio area.
We have a sound system, DVD player and HD Dish TV,
as well as wireless internet or ethernet.
There is
no telephone, but most cell services seem to work well
both
in and outside of the guest house.
There is a single fold out bed in front of the fireplace
(sheets in the Master Bath cupboard)
and your choice of a single or full-sized inflatable available--just ask Rae-Lynn or Jesse. We also have a port-a-crib.
The Master Bedroom has a queen-size bed and a
private garden with a large garden tub/shower,
all
with views of the mountain range.
If you need extra sheets or towels during your stay, please contact Rae-Lynn or Jesse. Both baths have private toilet stalls and hair dryers.
The Second Bedroom has a queen-size bed with lots of storage space
and privacy, plus an oversized shower.
We hope we've thought of everything to help make
your stay with us
as comfortable an experience as possible!
Let us know what you think....

Dusk and Dawn are very special times at Querencia. Sunrises are usually spectacular, worth having a camera ready. Sangre de Cristo means "Blood of Christ," so named because they often turn a beautiful shade of crimson at dusk. If you listen at dusk or just before dawn, you might hear the eerie cries of the coyote packs, or see one crossing the ridge.
